Representative Tom Tancredo

Republican

Thomas Gerard ("Tom") Tancredo (born December 20, 1945) is an American politician from the Republican Party. He has been a member of the United States House of Representatives since 1999, representing the 6th Congressional District of Colorado, which includes most of Denver's southern suburbs. He has gained national attention for his strong stance against illegal immigration, and he has expressed interest in seeking the 2008 Republican Nomination for President and in seeking the Republican U.S. Senate nomination in Colorado if incumbent Republican Senator Wayne Allard retires. Tancredo won re-election in 2006 against Democratic challenger Bill Winter at 59%-40%.
